Hi

I bought an old van with no record of the radio code. If you turn on the radio it shows the message "9 error" The sticker on the side of the unit has the following info:

Model No 22RC200/65
TOT 383
Prod No FD1001419346442

Then there is a barcode sticker with the following info:
PHAPKF19346442
96 392 193 8002
PHK 934 6442

Hope this means something to one of you and you can tell me the code.

hi try code 6623
note the radio does not lockout after a wrong code entry it only doubles the time to wait before
the next retry...if a wrong code is entered it will display error then after the delay should display "0000")

Thanks for quick reply. I tried the code but in fact the unit won't accept anything. No matter what buttons I press the display is fixed on 9 ERROR. Any ideas? If it's not a code problem I guess I'll have to stump up for a new radio.

PS I don't have the manual for the radio - perhaps someone knows what 9 ERROR means.

It usually means a code has been incorrectly entered at some point, and a time delay is being imposed before you can enter the code again.

Switch your ignition key to the ON accessory position, power up the radio, and just leave powered up (don't touch any buttons during this process),
the radio will eventually reset, typically 10 mins to 2 hours... (this depends on how many incorrect codes have been entered).

Please note : 6 6 2 3, is the correct original manufacturer's code for this radio.

Once reset - "CODE" will appear, or "0000" - use your stalk controls to enter the control. (if confused by code entry method - request help post again, and I will find instructions for you)

Your radio is made by CLARION and the only CLARION code available for free (using a serial number ) from anywhere on the Internet is if your radio also has a BARCODE SERIAL NUMBER beginning with
C 7000000 + + + + on a label somewhere on the metal casing.

If not then it will only be available from your Main Dealer or a Decoding Service or your local Car Radio / Audio Store who will connect a laptop to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM) inside your radio
