The correct radio SERIAL NUMBER is required for a code It usually begins with M or V followed by SIX digits ...such as M654321 Sometimes pressing buttons 6 & 1 together or 6 & 2 will display your Serial Number Otherwise remove the radio from the dashboard and post the SERIAL NUMBER found on a label on the casing

Hi everyone,

I would greatly appreciate if anyone could help me with my Ford 89 Capri radio code.

The local dealer brushed me off unless I was willing to pay $35 for it. I can't quite justify that for a such an old radio/tape deck.

There is a Ford sticker with Dolby licensing info and these numbers, no indication as to what they mean:

I noticed the serial doesn't begin with a letter, like other Ford codes I've seen. It's def the stock radio, according to the car manual. I found the serial stamped into the back plate of the radio.

I got hold of a decoder myself and I got 2496 out of it. No such luck however as only numbers 1-6 have buttons, so i couldnt input the code. Tried all other buttons but no effect. it must be a 4 digit code from 1-6.

If anyone has even a clue, I would be most thankful.
