how could i get the code for free as ive been messed about by so many people trying and charged too much.

The best option is to take it into your local Car Radio Store or Decoding Service where they will connect a laptop and read your code from the memory chip (EEPROM)

They`ll do it while-you-wait....but you`ll have to pay (usually around £15)

Hi there. we have an Astra on which we recently had to replace the battery and we cannot get the CAR 400 radio to accept the code on the passcard. This is the first time we have had to do this, and we are beginning to wonder if the code on the passcode is wrong. We are following the correct code entry procedure exactly, but when we finally press AS to confirm the code, it just beeps and then goes back to SAFE.

According to the passcard, the serial nunber is 13141872 and the code is 7099. Are you able to confirm that as the correct code for that serial ?

Pleaese quote the 14 character Serial Number beginning with GM xxxxxxxxxxxx...and normally found stamped in the metal casing
