  • Code for Corsa Philips SC201(C)

Hi. I came across this very helpful forum in my search for the code for a Philips SC201 radio (1984 Corsa) which was lost when I changed the flat battery. Can anyone help with the code? The details of the radio are

    No. 90 381 124
    Made in Germany.
    9022 214 60758 02
    003 9427 1431573
    57990201
    R1431573
    No. stamped on side: GM0201R1431573

Is there any other information I need to give anyone?

    Yours in desperation!

    Cheers

    Jaz

        • Oops, not sure if my original reply went to the right place. But just wanted to say, thank you very much - the code worked and now can listen to the radio and use vintage cassette technology again! 8-)

Much appreciated if someone could help please.

                      Many thanks.
Sorry to appear thick, but I pushed the AS button in and kept pushing it whilst I turned it on and then keyed preset [1] 5 times, preset [2] 9 times etc.
Nothing happened, so I suppose I didn't do it right.

Press and hold the AS button whilst switching on the radio.

Press the preset [1] for the correct first digit
Press the preset [2] for the correct second digit
Press the preset [3] for the correct third digit
Press the preset [4] for the correct fourth digit

If the correct code is now shown on screen, press and hold the AS button again to save it.

Many thanks, I needed that :-)
I've been seeing "display" and "screen", and I don't have one on this radio!
Just realised it's remote, on the top of the dash, which I thought was only a clock, and which has never worked!
So that's the first thing to try and sort out.
Life's so complicated. Thanks for your help.

Having got the screen working now, I tried but only had SAFE.
I read about leaving it switched on to clear it, so turned it on and left it for 3 hours.
Turned off, then on with AS pushed, still only SAFE, and I left it on, not touched it for over 28 hours - still SAFE.
Is it time to give up on this?
                                Or a Dealer job?
