its the contents of eprom which holds the info of code,preset etc its a small 8 pin microchip(eprom) which is the memory of the radio.
you need to read the info inside the eprom(dump) you can do this my an eprom programmer which can easily be made or can be bought cheaply for a few quid from online auctions

whats the dump? sorry for sounding like a fool.
