its the contents of eprom which holds the info of code,preset etc its a small 8 pin microchip(eprom) which is the memory of the radio.
you need to read the info inside the eprom(dump) you can do this my an eprom programmer which can easily be made or can be bought cheaply for a few quid from online auctions

It`s usually due to entering too many wrong codes. Try leaving it switched ON UNDISTURBED for as long as possible (overnight) and then it should reset itself.

Here are the entry instructions just in case you don`t have them

Philips SC201 Vauxhall Code Entry
Press and hold the AS button whilst switching on the radio.

Press the preset [1] for the correct first digit
Press the preset [2] for the correct second digit
Press the preset [3] for the correct third digit
Press the preset [4] for the correct fourth digit

If the correct code is now shown on screen, press and hold the AS button again to save it.
