  • Lost Freelander audio code

I bought an 05 plate Freelander 2 years ago, and have just found out the hard way that the radio code in the documentation relates to another radio!

Please can anyone point me in the direction of the right code?

Radio is a Visteon FL3 CD Europe, serial number on label is M016592, but embossed on the radio body is VMFL3E5M016592.

    Thanks in anticipation.

Thank you for responding. Unfortunately the code did not work.

      Kind regards,

Read me to try other options...

Removal of the radio is not required, as the serial number can be obtained whilst the radio is still fitted to the car.
The 10 digit serial number is displayed by pressing and holding presets "2" and "6".

Repost serial if it's different, so we can recalculate code...

        Code Entry as Follows:

Switch Radio On - Display Shows
        CODE with " - - - - " flashing
        Press preset " 1 " repeatedly for 1st Digit
        Press preset " 2 " repeatedly for 2nd Digit
        Press preset " 3 " repeatedly for 3rd Digit
        Press preset " 4 " repeatedly for 4th Digit
If the correct code number is now shown
Press Tuning Up button " > " to Enter

If it doesn't work, maybe your radio could be recoded...

If the numbers quoted ....M016592, and VMFL3E5M016592.
embossed on the radio body are the ones found on the actual radio casing then 7123 is the original code.
If this does not work (and you are using the correct Code Entry Instructions (see previous answer) which display all the correct info at each stage) then your radio may have been recoded to a completely different number.

If this is the case then it will have to be taken into a Radio Decoding Service in order to electronically read the new code.

Hi, (or should I say buona sera? :-) )

Thank you so much for the tip about buttons 2 and 6. I now know that I read the code incorrectly from the radio. (I could not remove it completely and photographed the label with my phone.....)

The correct codes are M016952 and VMFL3E5M016952. (I am not sure if the character between "M" and "1" iz a zero or letter O)

Hoping that you can be of further assistance.

                  Tanti saluti,

                  Paul

                      Thanks again!

The car has been in for another job requiring battery disconnection.
You've guessed it - I hadn't updated the audio security card, but thankfully I was able to track back to here and get the code again.
                      Thanks again!
