  • 2001 Jaguar XJ8 - Help!

Im hoping its possible someone could help save my sanity...

I have a long journey coming up soon and as part of my preparations, I swapped the rough battery on my Jaguar for a new one, completely forgetting about the radio code. Schoolboy error!

As far as google can tell me (and also the receptionists at every Jag dealer for fifty miles), I need to supply the service department with the last half of my VIN and they can do it there and then.

Unfortunately, all the service departments I've tried (and I've tried a lot, believe me) are closed until Monday...

Reading through a few search results from here, it appears that there may be some help to be had here?

    2001 Jaguar XJ8 - VI~N is *******51KF37455

Thanks in advance for any help, or advice. I'll be on the phone to my local dealer again on monday morning, but if I can get some help before that, it would be awesome.

Why do I always forget to check that the code card is in the handbook folder thingy?

    Cheers,

    Keith.

The radio SERIAL NUMBER is required for a code

First remove the radio from the dashboard.

Then post the radio make+model plus all the letters+numbers on any labels, barcodes or stamped in the metal casing.

This information can then be used to see if a code can be calculated

      Okies. My mistake.

Now that the stereo is out, I can say...

      Model Number: Jaguar AJ2001W
      Part Number: LNF4100BA

      Stamped into the casing: JALNBA10219152 / 10219152

Another quick google says that its an Alpine head unit as fitted to XJ8 and XJR

Unfortunately this code is not in the available database so won`t be available for free from anywhere on the Internet.

See your PM message for suggestions
