I have rang VW and just encase other people want to know who are in a simlar possition
you have to supply either the FULL CAR REG or VIN number and proof of purchase then VW main dealer will decode for £10.00 plus vat

The only problem with having to obtain from the V W dealer AND paying is that the code given will be the original radio code but if the code does not work for whatever reason (such as radio changed or database error ) then there is no money back guarantee.Originally posted by scaper28 View PostThanks for letting me know .

The better option is a Radio Decoding Service because they will "read" the working code inside the radio`s memory chip (EEPROM)
