I'm looking for a free radio code for my Vauxhall Astra as the radio died after the battery went dead,

The radio SERIAL NUMBER is required for a code

First remove the radio from the dashboard.

Then post the radio make+model plus all the letters+numbers on any labels,barcodes or stamped in the metal casing.

This information can then be used to see if a code can be calculated

Sorry....will only be available from the Main Dealer or the unit will have to be taken into a Radio Decoding Service to obtain this code

It will not be available for free or cheap from anywhere on the Internet

who wouldhave thought it could be this complicated! lol. I wanted to take out the 12 CD interchanger that came with the 3rd hand car and put the original cd player back in so it would all talk to the the paddles on the wheel, Ive tried two companies now one for only £2.49 who surpisingly didnt do my car and the second which simply doesnt work. im down to 7 remaining attempts arrrggg, if only they had left the damn code in with all theother stuff that came with the car this would have been soooo easy! my serial no is GM0500317835546 any advice on how to obtain the correct code please? thanks awfully

My best advice for you is to avoid the online £2.49 companies, and get out your 'Yellow Pages' and look for your nearest professional radio decoder... who will remove your radio, read the 100% reliable code from the eeprom, and at the same time reset the time lock.
