sorry for the delay, had an unexpect offer of a week in Spain, family enjoyed it but could not check the serial numbers!

I have now removed the Radio unit the serial number on the radio is :-
Serial Number 55094528
Model BE 7820
Version Europe ECE

and it has this code 7820KW055094528

The original box clearly is not belong to this radio unit!

i assume it is possible the numbers on the original box are not the actual serial number of the unit installed, therefore rather than trusting the serial numbe on the box is there a serial number on the head unit, if so do you know if i can get this number without taking the unit completely out?

The unit has to be removed from the dashboard to make sure you are quoting the correct Serial Number usually found on a label on the casing and/or stamped in the metal

check the numbers again.

If wrong codes have already been entered , then leave the radio switched on ...undisturbed for an hour or more
