Thank you Goncalves, looks like the radio is so old that it does not read the keys (pressing button 1-4). But it was worth a try.

Hm, that is strange. When I press the preset key 1 five times I have "5" as first digit. But preset keys 2-4 do not work.

Then I started with preset key 2 for the second digit. This works but then preset keys 1, 3 and 4 don't work. Am I doing anything wrong?

Are you sure you are following the code entry instructions correctly as
the - - - - do not always need to flash
