renault laguna carminat code pls

we have managed to get the error code off now, thanks very much for the help.
i have put the code in but it doesn't seem to finish sort of thing, the last digit keeps flashing as if i have to click a certrain button to enter the code, any idea what that is? i think it's something on the controls next to the steering wheel

yes hold the store button for about ten seconds
You must hold at the end to store your code.
IF YOU DONT HAVE ¬ KEY THEN PUSH THUMBWHEEL IN AND SOME HAVE {A¬} KEY

Turn on the radio and the display will show 'CODE'
Use the steering controls for code entry.
Press the [ ¬] button then rotate the thumb wheel for the correct first digit
Press the [ ¬] button then rotate the thumb wheel for the correct second digit
Press the [ ¬] button then rotate the thumb wheel for the correct third digit
Press the [ ¬] button then rotate the thumb wheel for the correct fourth digit
If the correct code is now shown on screen,
press and hold the [ ¬] button for up to 10 seconds to store the code

FOR NO STEERING CONTROL
press the first preset button for the 1st digit,
second button for the 2nd digit
third button for 3rd digit
forth button for 4th digit
then press and HOLD button 6 to store. for 10 seconds

and on some it's hold 5 to store.

well it is stating the obvious, in order to have the radio switched on the ignition needs to be on, or if the radio does turn on without the ignition needing to be on it will flatten the battery leaving it left on and standing for 2 hours! hence why i said the car running - the battery doesn't go flat then.
it just doesn't make any sense to me i thought there would be a quicker and simpiler way to sort it out because when i had my renault clio after a few minutes the error message disappeared and allowed me to enter another code.
renault and their electric = RUBBISH!

Not strictly true....A radio can be left on and will take over 2 days to get anywhere near to draining a battery in average condition

Hi we have got a laguna II for some 3 years now..
2 weeks ago we accidentally left our light on at night which drowned the batteries..
After this our radio askes for a code the barcode is

It would help us out a lot !!

Do you have a SECURITY NUMBER. This is found on a label on the metal casing in the format TOA123 or TA123 or just A123 at the end of a barcode

If in doubt post ALL the letters+numbers on any labels or barcodes

This is not in my database and as it does not have any Security Number then I suspect it will be VIN coded.

This means it has to be electronically linked to your car`s electronics and this will be a job for your Renault dealer or a Radio Decoding Service

It is unlikely you will find any cheap or free solution on the Internet
