ive already tryed one of those 'pay for code' sites and it looks like i wasted £15 of my hard earned cash.

Many of these Philips codes are not calculated using maths ...but have to be looked up on a database.

The biggest database is held by the Main Dealers....and the rest that appear as commercially obtainable software are much smaller.
