I checked the CD myself (the first time my friend checked it) and I found the code needed:
GM0400V1473762 - this is stamped on the metal casing.
the code for the CD I think is 2721 - but when I repeatedly entered wrong codes (the battery was disconnected so I turned on the radio and forgot it needs a code ...) I think it is blocked or something - is there a way or a code to unblock it? Thanks.

I own a Philips Car 400 stereo and I forgot the code.. so I repeatedly entered wrong codes and now I think it's locked or something. Is there anyway to unlock it? Here are all the numbers written on it:
these two look like manufacture dates or something:
DM25-6-1985
DM27-8-1987
and this looks like some kind of serial number:
GM PHILIPS 90532621
WA009703
