Vdo cdr 500

Hi Guys, Really hoping someone can help.

Just bought new car from out of town, Vauxhall Astra Coupe, the radio code on the car pass is wrong, tried couple of times, no joy. Took the CD player out and written in felt pen is reg number of a completely different car, Vauxhall Vectra, so the radio was obviously swapped over at some point. nightmare!
I dont even know if this is possible but couldnt anyone help me get the code i need?
its a VDO CDR 500
Serial : GM050011120203
NO : 24 469 302

VDO 326559176.

If anyone could help with this it would be great, so frustrating having no music! argh!

Unfortunately the majority of SIEMENS/VDO codes (including your CDR500) will NOT be available for free (or cheap) from anywhere on the Internet as access is required to the original factory database…which is not commercially available..

Try your Main Dealer or a Decoding Service or your local Car Radio / Audio Shop (who are normally the cheapest option) who will connect it to a laptop to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM

I was just going to put another CD player in it but not sure how it would effect display, steering wheel controls etc.
