it has to left SWITCHED ON...UNDISTURBED ....the important word being undisturbed bevcause any interruption causes it to reset the waiting time
This can take an hour or much longer as it depends on the number of wrong codes entered previously

Try connecting it to a spare battery on your workbench and leave it switched on overnight
