Radio code needed for a renault laguna

Please help!!!!!!
Ive bought a laguna (2000 w reg).
Ive got a code for the radio but its not working.
The code is 9990
ive rang renault and they said i need to take it to a main dealer and get it reset because someone has put the wrong code in and locked the radio bofore me.
Not sure what info you need so i will write the lot.
