Hello guys, I'm new here although I've been reading this forum for a long time.

I live in Brazil and a friend of mine gave me his CD, which was installed in his car, but it's not working since he doesn't have the code anymore and the car battery went down.

It's a Famar Fueguina S.A., with Philips technology.

All the codes stamped in the radio are:

Autolatina (VW-Ford Joint Venture at that time)
                    Model: Philips DC 932
                    Part number: 327 035151.1
                    Serial number: 1145262
                    Production date: Dec 5th, 1994

I got the binary calculator, but I don't have any material to read the Epron data. So, in this case, I'm looking for the 4-digit code itself.

                    Thanks in advance!

The Serial Number quoted is not a PHILIPS type number.

The only seven digit Serial Number could be the old FORD type ....but this was for a 3 digit code.
So for 1145262 the code is 028

but I doubt if that is the correct one.

Are you sure there is no Serial Number stamped in the metal casing?

                          • Yeah, I know this was a difficult request. But I know there must be a way; a long time ago (I think it was in this forum, but I can't find the topic now), someone could unlock a DC349, which belongs to the same series than my CD (however, DC 349 is a tape).

                            This is my radio:

                            And the stickers:

                            Top

This one is about the wiring, may be relevant to compare to other models

Rear (there you can read the reference number, which is A 5282 and I didn't mention before)

Bottom (Autolatina was a joint-venture between Volkswagen and Ford for Latin America from 1987 to 1996)

                            Thanks for the (huge) help!

The DC932 is listed as a PHILIPS unit but as you may already be aware , PHILIPS codes are NOT calculated but derived from a very large database.
This database normally uses a 14 character Serial Number for obtaining the code....and this is quite often stamped in the metal casing.

                              see here

I can`t see any such number on your photographs

                              • Hi there!

I even opened it up in order to search for a stamped serial number, but nothing... it only has those stickers I showed you. Really getting nowhere here... I'm working with those options:

                                1- Set it on fire
2- Throw it from the 9th floor
                                3- Keep on trying...

I know there's a way of reading its EPROM memory, but I don't have the reader nor the specific knowledge to build one.

Guess what: the tape I have is from the same model line (but, it's a DC 349). And it has the sticker with the 15-digit (or so) serial number. But it was produced later, circa 1997.

I'm guessing here that older Philips radios must have a different database. But, in fact, I'm getting crazy (and leaving you all guys crazy as well).

I'm still looking forward to solving this; if not in the internet, I will stop by and tell you how. But hope someone here was in my situation before so we can laugh together of our disgrace! Haha!

Thanks again! Every help is appreciated!
