Thanks will try as soon as I can get to " code " at the moment it keeps just coming up with jeu 01 01 ? Have left for an hour so far and still no "code " entry option yet am I doing something wrong ?? Or just need to wait longer ?

I had this code written on piece of paper but it was not working....from ERROR 3 went to ERROR 4 when i try to use code from other calculator..., then to ERROR 5 when i try 5411 and finally I left car for night with displaying ERROR 6 :-) after night ...... surprise....... radio is working.

Hmm, the radio itself, at the moment shows 7 ERROR which is assumed to mean the number of attempts at a wrong code entry.
I've found a calculator online and have followed the instructions about taking the first 4 digits of the serial, click calculate and so fourth.
If that first block doesn't work try the next and so on. I've even used the method shown for adding up your code values as shown on
many sites and the code calculated and the method for calculating are the same resulting number.

I suppose what i am searching for is a means to get the radio into CODE entry mode rather than having to wait with the ignition on
for what may be hours to get to the code screen. Is there a way to force CODE entry mode?

There is no calculator available for anything else so you will be wasting your time looking .

the only CLARION code available for free (using a serial number ) from anywhere on the Internet
is if your radio also has a BARCODE SERIAL NUMBER beginning with
C 7000000 + + + + on a label somewhere on the metal casing.

If not then it will only be available from your Main Dealer or a Decoding Service
or your local Car Radio / Audio Store who will connect a laptop to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM)
inside your radio
