Peugeot 406, 1998, Philips Radio/Cassette

Same problem.
Bought a Peugeot 406 with no code info for the stereo.

I would be grateful for a code

Tried it. Worked. Many thanks for your help and apologies for the apparent delay in thanking you.

I wasn't being ignorant but the radio wasn't giving up easily. I mis-keyed so got an "ERR CODE". Left it for 30 minutes but still showing error. The Peugeot has a battery where the positive terminal is screwed on by hand so disconnected it and went back an hour later. "ERR CODE" on the display.

I disconnected the battery and left it overnight. Reconnected this morning and, as if by magic, "ERR CODE"

I had time to kill between appointments this morning so I took the stereo out, disconnected the leads and removed the fuse. Left it for around 2 hours. Put it back - "CODE".

30 seconds later I had Classic FM, 15 more and I was listening to my favourite - Radio 4 :auto:
