How do I type my radio code in?

I've got an MTV radio and I've got a code but when I click each number the radio jumps beeps and does nothing. It digits won't change at all..I've got no dials just numbers

The only suggestion is to leave the radio SWITCHED ON ...UNDISTURBED for a couple of hours to see if that resets it
