P reg ford galaxy key fob problem

i just bought new batteries for my key fob & now the led lights stay on all the time but when i press the lock or unlock buttons they go off & also its not working on my car,could somebody please help me as to what's wrong with it. thanks

We don`t normally deal with Key Fob problems
