Citroen xantia radio code problem

I have problem.. I change my battery on my Xantia 1998., and when i try to input code for radio i wrong time input many time.
I know code now, but i have problem , i can not now to input code, on my radio display have only "---"- and i can not to write code when i want tu write number i push taster but "---"- no change only stand "----" can not write number!!!
HELP ME

Try leaving it SWITCHED ON ..UNDISTURBED for 2 hours or more to rest it.
