The code you gave me was spot on, but it keeps displaying ERR-CD when I try to play a cd.

The usual problem with CD Error is a dirty laser lens.

It can usually be cured by buying a CD cleaning disc from Ebay.

(Search for CD lens cleaner )

This is a CD with inbuilt bristles and cleaning fluid that you insert and spin for a few seconds.

Alternatively remove the CD player from the car .
Remove the covers and clean the lens with a cotton bud and iso-propyl alcohol (sold as lens cleaning fluid)
