Some begginer questions

Hi all gsm forum .
I have a motorola v3RoHS 0A.30 and it has a pds problem.
I want to repair it but the battery it's dead .
I saw that many of you use some external power , how did you call that machine who you connect on phones connectors,
What name does it have ?
I want to buy one and i don't know what name it has.

Please excuse me , I'm new in this profession .

you can charge batery in other phone.
dead phone not charge batery.
and you can use power supply(4.2v) for this.
if you have some hardware knowlege,not problem make power directly from usb.
but carefull with power conection.
if you make short betwen + and middle pins you can damage phone cpu.
better try charge in other phone or with universal charger,more safety.
