I think nobody can help You. You're missing basic knowledge here, so there is a lot You have to read and learn before even asking for help.

Ofcourse software will report "unable to open" if You dont have com1. Do You have any idea what is com port ?

Just as a suggestion the ODM Rocker software should automatically select the Rocker Dongle COM port (usually COM4) as default when the option 'Automatic detect' is enabled so people have one less chance of being stupid :devil:

I know is more coding but maybe is worth the effort...
