  • How to request support for unsupported model (Read this first ! ! !)

    Hi,
In order to add support for most of new models, we usually need help from our users.
Perfect situation is if user have already working device, which can serve as donor for bootloader partitions and other data we use to create RIFF DLL.

What is required to add support ?

    • Device in either working or bricked state
    • Pinout for device
    • Remote Helper Software
    • Digital camera or Phone with good camera
    • Hour or two of Your time to work with us
    • Source to extract required partitions (Working device dump, bootloader update file, or phone firmware)

Pinouts in most devices have already known layout forms. For example, in Samsung devices there is variety of JTAG Ports layouts, but must of these layouts are already well known. Example is molex ports with 2x5 or 2x6 pins, or simple 9 pins port used in most budget models.

What do we need from user ?

    • Hi resolution photo of device board (only side where JTAG port is located)
    • Ability to use English language
    • Stable Internet Connection
    • Free time to work with us on solution
    • Ability to use RIFF Pinfinder Probe function where JTAG pinout is unknown

What are steps user need to do in order to get device supported ?

    • Open new thread in this section and post all relevant information about device brand, model and it's state
    • Leave contact information (QQ, ICQ, Gtalk)
    • Work hours schedule when we can contact You

RIFF Team is known for it's success in cooperation and direct communication with users. Almost 90% of new models we add is due to our contributing users and supporters.
