  • Qualcomm MDM9615 A little help

    Hello Guys..

First of all... I had been doing Jtag for a while and I'm very satisfied for this extraordinary box... Just the best of the best.

Well this is the chipset that I'm trying to read and write
    Qualcomm MDM9615

    I already made the connection

I had to use Samsung L710 Loader to connect to riff

606F00E1 Thats the code ID for this chipset.. But I can't read or write anything

My goal is to read and edit the partitions like any other qualcomm chipset like this... This is from a 9600 qualcomm

Can onyone of you guys putme in the right direction what Im doing wrong

What is this device You are trying to connect ?

Does this modem chip works as standalone or in slave configuration ? If it works as slave, it doesn't have it's own flash memory, thus You wont be able to read anything.

So, please post device brand and model, and of course pinout.

Error message displayed means that HW Init script was unable to set RAM parameters.

      Thanks for fast reply

Wow... The creator just replied me....

      I very good pleassure!!!

If you say that could be as a slave... That have a lot of sense.... This is the
missing emmc of the board I supose where the os is stored.

And the model of the Modem is:
Mifi Novatel 5580 by Sprint and here is the pinout

If the mdm9615 is the slave....

Could I desolder the emmc just to leave de mdm9615 alone?
and not to be a slave anymore?

Thanks for reading my post sr... You are the JTAG GOD

        1. You need NRST pin to configure HW properly
        2. If there is no eMMC on board, You can't get to read anything
        ...
If this is a modem, then MDM chip is not in slave configuration, but probably standalone.
Find NRST pin and after that You should be able to boot it properly. I don't think You can use L710 DLL to read it as it's HW init and DCC loader are made for QC S4 ARM7 RPM core.

        - NRST pin voltage is allways at aproximate value of Vref for given CPU core.
In case of MSM7227, its 2.6V, with 0,5V tolerance.
For start measuring voltage on possible pads is good idea.

        - Process:

After connecting all other points, solder NRST wire (pin 15) to TP needle.
Launch JTAG Manager, and select "Custom Target Settings", exactly as on screenshot

        Click "Connect&Get ID",
        Click "Reset the Target"

Result in logging window will be shown:

        Status: Target is Halted

Now, click again "Reset the Target"
In case that NRST signal is NOT Connected, result in window will be shown:

        "Status: Target was already halted"

In case that NRST IS connected, result in window will be:

        "Status: Target is Halted"

This status will be allways same, if NRST is connected. IF NRST is not connected, it will be shown only after first click.

If I get the missing NRST pin... What dcc loader is the apropiate?

          I really like bussines....
