Great thanks, the code is correct, radio worked fine. Drove 10 miles, turned ignition off, then started up again to come back..... radio locked again 'safe'?????

What do I do now?

Looks like you've got a blown fuse that has disconnected permanent memory feed +12v to radio.
You need to check fuses.
