Important - Rocker Box Modifications !

Hello,

Thanks to RoxsAndy, its discovered that FTDI part design in box has few flaws, thus preventing box to work properly.

Problems caused by this design error were :

- Unstable speed
- Impossible to read flash from phones
- Communication glitches

To fix those problems, please do the following:

- Swap resistors R8 and R9
- Short circuit R9 to C10
- Solder capacitor 22pF between R7 and pin 8 of U3 IC
- Solder 22pF capacitor between R1 and R2

Please download attached photo of PCB with detailed instructions.

If You have diferent PCB, then You probably not have described problems.

Only if You have problems to read flash from ODM models, You should make these changes.

Boxes produced by NarryTelecom have this error.

Yes great , I am a tech , and I can see many repairers struggling to do this repair properly. Not a good production run. Maybe charge a few dollars more and get the proper engineering and production run. This box has killed more than it unlocks due to software issues or losing the phone during the unlock, and now this? Suggest customers think hard before buying , or pcb's get repaired BEFORE supplying...

You are wrong - this box when not modified works perfectly with write mode.

Plus, with each box package, we provided prolific USB adaptor to be used with TI based phones. We have said numerous of times that with TI based phones use of prolific cable is required for best results.

Modifications which are required now will mostly serve for upcoming Samsung updates.

Hello Mr. Legija,
Thank you very much for this information.I tied to open my box and discovered that my Dongle has that PCB type with faulty build.
The problem is I am likely to damage the whole box should I make the attempt to do the modifications.
Please can't there be a different solution where for instance we bring the faulty ones to you for modifications or total exchange for new ones at some reduced prices?
Normally manufactures recall their products and refix the problems whenever such problems arise!Why can't such be the case?
