Here is USB Drivers installation procedure for Locosto USB based models :

Motorola W450
Motorola W360
Motorola EM325
Motorola ZN200


Since Motorola released support for Locosto USB models with latest driver installer, procedure has been changed:



Download "Motorola_Internal_Driver_Installation_3.5.0.msi" from Rocker Dongle Support
Remove any previous Motorola Drivers installation
Start "Motorola_Internal_Driver_Installation_3.5.0.msi" and install it
Press "Start -> Programs -> Motorola Driver Installer -> Motorola Driver Installer.exe"
Select "Clean and Reinstall"
Reboot Your PC

At this point You can connect Your Locosto USB motorola in POWERED OFF state to Your USB PC port. Drivers should be installed automatically.

In case You have damaged registry, You will have to do this manually :



Start Device Manager (Right click My Computer -> Manage -> Device Manager)
Connect powered OFF phone to USB PC port
In Device Manager, "Locosto" device will apear
Double click on it, select "Driver" then click "Update Driver"
Driver wizard will start, select "Install Driver from Specific Location"
Press next and point wizard to "\\Program Files\Common Files\Motorola Shared\MotPCSDrivers\Drivers"
Drivers installation procedure will be finished


Important note for Smart Clip users:

Since smart moto fuks windows registry and inf files, You'll have to run special utility before using Rocker software, in order to clean system from trash:



Download "Clear_SC_Driver.rar"
Unpack and execute it
Click "REMOVE"
Reboot system and proceede to steps for normal installation


You can find "Clear_SC_Driver.rar" attached here.

Open Rocker Dongle Support, and navigate to ".. / .. / RockerDongle / Drivers / W156i_W160_W175_W180_USB_Drivers / dir.
Download and install "Motorola.9.0.msi (http://www.rockerdongle.com/members/cardmain.php?dir=Drivers/W156i_W160_W175_W180_USB_Drivers/&file=Motorola.9.0.msi)"
Restart PC
Connect above mentioned Motorola model with mini USB cable to pc, with battery removed
Insert battery, windows will detect "LOCOSTO" device and install drivers
Remove and insert battery again, and check in device manager for "Motorola Flash" device.If You have done everything as described, You will have installed drivers correctly. Take note, these models will remain in flash mode for only 5 seconds, if no comunication started, phone will go to charging mode.

Sorry JoJo: but when setup starts, a message displayed at the bottom left of the screen says "no card found" , and the process finish.
I just need the damn driver to connect the cell phone to PC in order to upload images and update phonebook, not else. I'm not interesting in hacking or something alike. Is so difficult to get the driver?

I consider this is ONLY for the people who had Motorola drivers installed before? You should mention that, i am sure some people spent 30 minutes to figure out where the "Motorola Driver Installer.exe" is while there ISN'T any.

* Open Rocker Dongle Support, and navigate to ".. / .. / RockerDongle / Drivers / W156i_W160_W175_W180_USB_Drivers / dir.

What RockerDongle?? What IS RockerDongle?? Where is that folder? Why does it make sense to open a folder right before you restart your PC?

* Insert battery, windows will detect "LOCOSTO" device and install drivers
"..and install drivers" You mean that WINDOWS will install the drivers automatically or that YOU have to install the drivers? If the second case, wich drivers? I think you mean the drivers folder you mentioned earlier (the step before restarting your PC) ?
I tried to point the Windows Hardware Wizard to that folder, but it doesn't find any driver to install.

This is really frustrating me AND much others. I'v tried to install it on 2 different computers (one with Windows XP SP2 and other with WinXP SP3), but it failed at the part with installing the drivers. There are like 10 people(or more?) that have a question, and you just ignore this all instead of helping. Also to mention, your download link provided isn't working!! I had to Google it up and find it on a random FTP server. Please consider helping us and coming with PROPER instructions, not ones that you can interpret on different ways!

para la gente en español,es un poquito complicado porque uno lo conecta y el le pide el driver para v180 ,pero yo lo hice asi y me funciono:conecto el telefono sin bateria y apenas le pongo la vateria le doy unlock antes de que pida el drver de v180 y el telefono queda desbloqueado instantaneamente,,intentenlo asi.es muy facil ,sobra decir que el driver lokosto ya debe estar instalado,,si quieren que les diga en español como instalar el driver envienme un privado o posteen,,suerte amigos

Ao instalar a Rocker Dongle no PC o programa cria um icone com o nome :

Rocker Dongle Support,com a Rocker colocada na porta USB clicas nesse icon
e selecionas a parte que diz: Access www.rockerdongle.com support Area.
La tens os Drivers para motorola.

oi eu instalei tudo passo a passo mas não funciona , meu celular é da vivo W175 motorola, instalei os drivers mas simplesmente ele entra o locosto depois instala como porta serial e não há santo que desinstale o tal driver Philog USB serial cdc trace ele entra e se configura e nada dá pra fazer.. alguma dica?
o odm unlook quando é acionado e se pluga o cabo e a bateria, começa a leitura , dai aparece ero interno e nada mais funciona.. o celular trava e não liga e fica por aí!
Uso XP sp3 original.

* Selecione "Limpe apenas" e começar a pressionar, aguarde até então fechar a terminar o seu software,

Oi denovo Hassan, fiz tudo denovo e nada. internal error é o que aparece piscando no ODM
Tenho uma duvida: o sim fica no celular ao ligar(colocar a bateria?)
Apesar de ter feito isso ligar e desligar e ligar denovo. trocar o cabo, apertar botão desliga do celular 2 vezes esperar 10 segundos(conforme outro site de ajuda) nada teve efeito. O celular continua travado só pode usar pra operadora VIVO.
O drive philog serial continua aparecendo mesmo desistalando tudo... quando conecto a bateria entra o locosto, depois aparece Motorola Flash interface, desaparece e vem o W180Mobile, e pede os drivers do Philog . testei a versão 1.18 do ODM, tbm deu erro...
Digamos que eu não quisesse desbloquear. apenas acessar os ring tones, papeis de parede, etc.. como devia proceder? (no sentido de acessar o conteudo do celular)

O drive philog serial continua aparecendo mesmo desistalando tudo... quando conecto a bateria entra o locosto, depois aparece Motorola Flash interface, desaparece e vem o W180Mobile, e pede os drivers do Philog . testei a versão 1.18 do ODM, tbm deu erro...
Digamos que eu não quisesse desbloquear. apenas acessar os ring tones, papeis de parede, etc.. como devia proceder? (no sentido de acessar o conteudo do celular)

Olha!,o cartao tens sempre que tirar.
Nao sei o que esta a contecer.Ha muitos computadores com varios programas instalados que geram conflictos com as Dongles (Como a Rocker).
Nao sei se tens mais algum softwre instalado de outras caixas.
Devias ir ao My Computer , clicar com o Botao direito nas propriedades e ver as defenicoes do Hardware.Na barra,File(Fila) Accao,View aqui clicas no view
e quando abrir o painel clicas em (Mostrar Devices escondidos.
Os pontos que estiverem em Amarelo remove todos ou actualiza-os.
Ve tambem as portas COm,se tiveres muitas abertas tens que as desinstalar,as que estao em cinzento mais claro remove.
Talvez resolvas o Problema.
Agora para acederes ao conteudo de phone nao percebo bem o que queres dizer.
Tu queres ligar o telemovel ao computador para meter Toques,alterar ou meter papel parede e isso?
Se e isso precisas do cabo para ligar ao Pc os Drivers da Motorola e o programa de gestao do Motorola,e como o PC-Suite da Nokia.
Vais ao Site da motorola e tiras de la.
Se for isto que queres e nao conseguires retirar a aplcacao diz que posso colocar no Forum ou enviar-te.

amigo, tengo 2 problemas, uno es que formatee el disco duro y ahora no me reconoce el w175-w230yw270 parece que se me fue el driver y cuando lo conecto me pide pero no lo encuentra asique no lo instala, y el otro es que solo lo leia al w375 con la vercion odm 1.06 o 1.04 y ahora cuando la ejecuto no sale nada, es decir no habre el programa, si habre el 1.18 1.19 y 1.26 pero los otros de numero mas bajos no.

Para mi lo pienso que es bien usted para borrar todos les
driverés de Motorola.
Asi como las aplicaciones Rocker y para instalar todo de nuevo.
Le gusta soólo esto resuelva tus problemas mas faciles.

Thanks for your helpful instructions.

I now understand that
1) the "LOCOSTO" drivers are only requested when the phone is plugged into USB at the time of inserting the battery
2) the "W180 Mobile" drivers (from Texas Instruments, the manufacturers of the LoCosto chipset used in W180) can be modified to match the W180 by inserting the correct PID (40C0) into the original inf file. By the way, these drivers are basically the same as the "USB charging drivers" Motorola offers on their support website for the W375 model - just the PID needs to be edited.

I was able to install both drivers (or only the second, if that matters) without any errors. As a result, I can now plug the W180 into USB and my computer will not complain anymore.

BUT, the phone is still not charging!

Could anybody who has enough technical understanding please comment on this and maybe help me.

Again, I am not planning to unlock the phone, I am just looking for technical expertise to get it charging via USB.

I think is problem with Windows.
Try clean Modems in Panel Control.
Clean al Drivers and reinstall drivers.

Hello,

Here is USB Drivers installation procedure for Locosto USB based models :
Run "Motorola Driver Installer.exe" from "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Motorola Shared\MotPCSDrivers\" dir
Select "Clean only" and press start, wait untill its finished then close the software,
Open Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs and uninstall Motorola Drivers
Open Rocker Dongle Support, and navigate to ".. / .. / RockerDongle / Drivers / W156i_W160_W175_W180_USB_Drivers / dir.
Download and install "Motorola.9.0.msi (http://www.rockerdongle.com/members/cardmain.php?dir=Drivers/W156i_W160_W175_W180_USB_Drivers/&file=Motorola.9.0.msi)"
Restart PC
Connect above mentioned Motorola model with mini USB cable to pc, with battery removed
Insert battery, windows will detect "LOCOSTO" device and install drivers
Remove and insert battery again, and check in device manager for "Motorola Flash" device.If You have done everything as described, You will have installed drivers correctly. Take note, these models will remain in flash mode for only 5 seconds, if no comunication started, phone will go to charging mode.
