I assume that you have downloaded a free PHILIPS code calculator program. This will be for reading the EEPROM inside the radio and will not work without unsoldering the EEPROM etc.to download a dump file from its memory.

The only calculator software that can supply PHILIPS codes from the Serial Number consists of a very large database type ....and is expensive ( 400 Euros or more !)

The Serial Number quoted is not a PHILIPS type number.

The only seven digit Serial Number could be the old FORD type ....but this was for a 3 digit code.
So for 1145262 the code is 028

but I doubt if that is the correct one.

Are you sure there is no Serial Number stamped in the metal casing?

The DC932 is listed as a PHILIPS unit but as you may already be aware , PHILIPS codes are NOT calculated but derived from a very large database.
This database normally uses a 14 character Serial Number for obtaining the code....and this is quite often stamped in the metal casing.

Hi there!

I even opened it up in order to search for a stamped serial number, but nothing... it only has those stickers I showed you. Really getting nowhere here... I'm working with those options:

1- Set it on fire
2- Throw it from the 9th floor
3- Keep on trying...

I know there's a way of reading its EPROM memory, but I don't have the reader nor the specific knowledge to build one.

Guess what: the tape I have is from the same model line (but, it's a DC 349). And it has the sticker with the 15-digit (or so) serial number. But it was produced later, circa 1997.

I'm guessing here that older Philips radios must have a different database. But, in fact, I'm getting crazy (and leaving you all guys crazy as well).

I'm still looking forward to solving this; if not in the internet, I will stop by and tell you how. But hope someone here was in my situation before so we can laugh together of our disgrace! Haha!

Hello,
I'm afraid I have a similar request as all the others ... the radio code.
I need it because I ripped the radio out to install an MP3-cable.

(for the interested: there are 3 small molex connectors, one with 8 pins, 2 with 6 pins each. The pins closest to the centre of the radio are the AUX input.
like this:

- - - left
- - - ground
- - - right

Important: only if the radio has 'update list' printed on the lower right side of the front panel AUX can be switched on - mine has. Easy I thought. Now I'm way up **** creek without a canoo - cable fine, radio refuses to work without code.
On second thought I could have installed the cable leaving the radio in the dash - saving a whole lot of trouble. But OK, too late now.

)

The easy way is to call Renault, provide the VIN and they will provide the code.
Only I'm living in Czech Republic, the car is ex-lease so they won't verify the ownership and since I'm a foreigner I tried to convince them, but no luck. The language barrier proved to be too tough ;-)

I need it because I ripped the radio out to install an MP3-cable.

(for the interested: there are 3 small molex connectors, one with 8 pins, 2 with 6 pins each. The pins closest to the centre of the radio are the AUX input.
like this:

- - - right

Important: only if the radio has 'update list' printed on the lower right side of the front panel AUX can be switched on - mine has. Easy I thought. Now I'm way up **** creek without a canoo - cable fine, radio refuses to work without code.
On second thought I could have installed the cable leaving the radio in the dash - saving a whole lot of trouble. But OK, too late now.

)

The easy way is to call Renault, provide the VIN and they will provide the code.
Only I'm living in Czech Republic, the car is ex-lease so they won't verify the ownership and since I'm a foreigner I tried to convince them, but no luck. The language barrier proved to be too tough ;-)

I contacted the main dealer and he told me the price had risen to £30 due to all the records for older radios being put into an archive, It wouldnt be to bad but its the stock radio that came with the car.

It should be much cheaper elsewhere. (Less than £10 perhaps)

Try one of the Radio Decode Specialists on Ebay or via a Google search.

Or even one of your local radio or mobile shops.

Thank you for the answer. I can understand your circumspection and I aprreciate it. But please dont punish me since I got 2 old radios from the previous owner of the car! Assuming that you are familiar with car radios, it should be clear that one cannot sell such old radios even for 5€ nowadays. So please be rational and trust what I say.

By the way, if those were stolen and I wanted to make a "profit" with these radios, I could have logged in under different user names and misuse your benevolence. I already read in the forum that you do not respond to multiple requests. But I even do not know if any of the two radios functions properly.

So once again I appeal for the code for the following radio.

It is because you have previously entered several wrong codes and now it is semi-locked.

Leave it SWITCHED ON...UNSDISTURBED until it resets itself.

It can take up to 640 minutes ( nearly 11 hours) as the time doubles after every wrong code.

Normally, though , it is one or two hours.
